The City of Yucaipa has always had hundreds of small businesses. From
young to old, there are citizens of Yucaipa who have decided to pursue
the American Dream and open up their own shop. Some of these
businesses are very prevalent and have infrastructure for residents to
see, while others are working out of the comforts and convenience of
their own home. Regardless of the business and its location, all
small business owners share the same passion. That passion they share
is to succeed and make their business work.

The Yucaipa Valley Chamber of Commerce was created to help facilitate doing business with residents and other business owners. We are there as a conduit to allow business owners to mix and to mingle, to get to know each other with the intention of working together and using each others
resources. We are a catalyst and a sparkplug to the marketing arm of
your business.

Many business owners have commented to me that they have “tried” the
Chamber and that it does not work, does not give them a return on the
money invested in their chamber membership. I encourage each of you
to try it again in 2008, as you will notice positive changes to the
way things are communicated and the way activities are run. We are
excited to promote each of you and to do all we can to encourage
others to do business with you. Our message this year is for each of you to “Remember a Member” and do business with Chamber members.

Although we would love to promise the world to our members, we all
know that it is going to take effort from each of us. We need each of
us to promote each other and encourage our friends to use our local
business resources before heading out of town. Most important, we
need each of our members to ATTEND our functions. I understand as a
business owner you may not be able to make it, but please do send a
representative from your business. We will make it worth your while.

We are looking forward to a great year and I am looking forward to

luncheons and other events, and more importantly- GET INVOLVED! You
will see a positive effect on your business!
